Scatterlings of Africa
Queen-size quilt that took me about 9 years to finish. It is named for a song by the South African rock group Johnny Clegg & Juluka. The blocks are a pattern called Lewis & Clark, which I chose for the outward moving points. I used small pinwheel blocks to divide the sashing and to imply stars. The inner and outer dogtooth borders continue the outward movement. The blocks and sashing are hand quilted. the dogtooth borders and inner black border are machine quilted.
