A couple of days after Vladi arrived from Missouri in early April, we had the last snowstorm of the year. Vladi and Suzie had a blast running around and playing in it.

At the September 2007 Humane Society of Berks County's Walk for the Animals, Vladi sat for a portrait. Some other ARPH volunteers and I had an education and fundraising booth for ARPH at the walk, which is attended by around 3000 dog lovers.

This was the ARPH fundraiser table at the 2006 Humane Society of Berks County Walk for the Animals. Vladi loves this event more than any other. He is adored by men, women and children alike. That is his idea of a perfect world--lots of pets and kisses and hugs and adoration-in-general.

By 5 months old, Vladi had grown and shed some of his fuzzy baby coat, his widow's peak got smoother, and the white streak on his forehead diminished. He was sleeping all night and not having too many accidents in the house. He was a chewer, though, and I had to replace a couple of computer peripherals (like a keyboard and mouse) because he had been laying quietly (I thought) under the computer desk and chewing on the hanging cords. Suddenly, the keyboard wouldn't work... the mouse didn't move or select anything... hmmmm... what could be wrong? Oh, Vladi, naughty boy!

This is the silly looking 14-week-old puppy Kevin and I fell in love with. His name then was Scamp. It just didn't fit. It took me two weeks to come up with the right name though--and the main influence was that widow's peak on his forehead. Vladimir, I thought. Count Vlad the Imp.

We play a game with Vladi known as Vladiball. It involves a really slimy deflated soccer ball and lots of throwing and running. I just adore this photo, even though it is a little out of focus. It is the essence of Vladi.
